Jerad
MacLean/Canyon Graphic Arts was contracted by SAVCOR Tile to be
their key designer for their photorealistic tile applications business
in the USA. SAVCOR is located in Finland with an office in Monterey,
California. SAVCOR Tile is just one branch of this world-wide industrial
corporation with over 2000 employees.
SAVCOR Tile has an international patent on a process by which photography
and other graphic media can be printed onto ceramic tiles in almost
unlimited size with perfect resolution and reproduction. They are
produced in Finland and then shipped for assembly tile-by-tile on
walls and other surfaces for purposes of advertising or artistic
expressions.

Below
are the first two wall murals designed by CGA.
The Mercedes-Benz/Monterey mural is 10' x 8' and includes a photo
history of key Mercedes-Benz models from their very first auto to
their most recent innovation. They wanted to use a photo image of
a Monterey area recognizable landmark, the Bixby Bridge on the Pacific
Coast Highway. This original image was taken by Graham Flint for
the Gigapxl Project, and it's original resolution was 4000 pixels,
thus making this mural retain incredibly sharp detail even at close
viewing. This project is being considered by the Mercedes Corporation
for customization in all Mercedes-Benz showrooms.
